Before a snowstorm, stock the basics you would hate to run out of: milk, bread, easy meals, pet food, batteries and salt for the walkway. If the roads are already bad, you can stay put and send us the list. We pick up groceries, convenience items, pharmacy basics, hardware and more, and bring them to your door.
Here is a simple checklist to work through before the snow starts, and what to do if you missed something.
What should I have on hand before a snowstorm?
Think about two or three days at home without a store run. You do not need a bunker, just enough that a closed road is an inconvenience and not a problem.
- Food that is easy to make: bread, eggs, pasta, rice, canned soup, cereal and a few frozen meals.
- Fridge staples: milk, butter, cheese and whatever the kids actually eat.
- Drinking water: a case or two is simple insurance.
- Light and power: flashlights, fresh batteries and a charged power bank for your phone.
- The walkway: ice melt or salt, and a shovel you can find.
- Pets: enough food and litter to get through.
- Household basics: toilet paper, dish soap and any everyday basics you use daily.
- Regular medications: if you rely on something, top it up before the weather turns.
What can Bottle Buddeez bring on a snow day?
If you are snowed in or would rather not drive, we can make the run for you. On a snow day, people tend to call us for:
- Groceries and fridge staples
- A convenience store run for milk, eggs, pop and snacks
- Pharmacy pickup and everyday basics
- Hardware and home items like salt and light bulbs
- Pet food and supplies
- Beer, wine and spirits from the LCBO or The Beer Store
Several of those can go on one order. Each additional stop on the same order starts at $4. You can see everything we pick up on our services page.
Weather can slow things down for everyone. When you order online, dispatch calls to confirm your details and give you an approximate delivery time, so you know what to expect before we head out.
How do I order when the roads are bad?
Use the order form or call 289-275-0767. No app and no account needed.
- List each store and what you want from it.
- Choose your substitution preference: Call me, Closest match, or Skip it. On a busy storm day, shelves can run low, so this matters more than usual.
- Pick As soon as possible, or schedule a time.
- If your order includes alcohol, have photo ID ready at the door. You must be 19 or older to purchase alcohol in Ontario.
We accept Visa, Mastercard and Interac debit.
Where do you deliver?
We deliver in Ajax and Whitby, where the published delivery fee is $8.99. Brooklin, Oshawa, Courtice and Bowmanville are call for pricing. If you are not sure your address is covered, call us before you order. You can also check our delivery areas.
A few snow day habits worth keeping
- Clear a path to your door and leave a light on, so whoever is delivering can find you.
- Keep your phone nearby after you order. If we hit a question at the store, we will call.
- Write your list before the storm while you can still check the cupboards calmly.
- Put brand and size in your notes. When a shelf is picked over, it helps us find the closest match.
Snow days are a good excuse to stay in. Let the plows do their work, and let someone else wait in the lines.
Send us your snow day list on the order form or call 289-275-0767. We are open Monday to Saturday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Sunday, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
